One more scandal of Maricar Reyes and Hayden Kho is now out of the open and getting the buzz, another reason for people to get curious and influence them to squander their money for the heck of catching a glimpse of it. People just can’t seem to get over this Maricar-Hayden sex scandal, especially that this has gone beyond its limits. While other ‘victims’ had only one video scandal, the Maricar-Hayden had now reached part three. Probably more to come? No matter how we try to impede the sprawl of these sex scandals by seizing those vendors who are taking advantage of the issue, it still boils down to one thing… that we can only bring this to a halt if we ourselves try to have power over our curiosity.

Endangered species are inhabitants who are at risk of being wiped out and becoming extinct. These are population of organisms whose number are jeopardized by predation of enemies or attack by human nature. They comprise about 40% of all organisms, based on research. That is why many nations promulgated laws that would protect and conserve these endangered species, such as prohibiting hunting of wild animals, selling products with the use of animal skin, or land development that takes away their habitat . ‘Foster homes’ for these endangered species are being developed and maintained to look after them and keep them in good condition. An absolute example of this is the Crocodile Park. In here, we can find a variety of endangered species, not merely for public view, but the intent of saving their lives and protecting them from extinction. A copious number of crocodiles can be found there, which I guess, are their main species. Crocodiles are said to live for as long as about 80 years. Just like Pangil, the 18-feet-long crocodile, has been estimated to have lived 81 crocodile years. One of the things that surprised me is that as their teeth fall off, another is generated, nonstop. They are said to have 2,000 to 3,000 chunks of teeth all throughout their lives. Pretty scary, right? Another attention-grabbing specie in the Crocodile Park is their Orangutan named Carlo. He surely entertained a bunch of guests there, drinking a bottle of mineral water. Orangutans are said to be the “man of the forest,” and they are well-known for their intelligence. They are species of Great Apes, live in trees and swing from branch to branch with the use of their arms, called brachiating. Other eye-catching animals are also there such as clever talking parrots, lovely birds, ostrich, squirrels, bearcat and other species in the cat family, snakes, and a lot more. They also have a short but substantial educational presentation, and amusing crocodile shows.
Crocodile Park…surely a fascinating recreational area for families and friends, and a home for endangered species.

Want to reveal the woman in you? You may perhaps turn your hobby of floral arrangement into business. It covers a wide range of market. Floral arrangements are useful on numerous occasions. They can be utilized as a centerpiece in social gatherings; or an accent in your homes and offices, an offering to the church, or a gift to a love one. For a very low principal investment, a skillful florist can have its price doubled. And with much luck, its worth can be tripled during special occasions such as Valentine’s Day, All Souls Day, and All Saints Day. All it takes is your skill and expertise. Are you the kind of person who patronizes replicas? It may sound absurd and scary to use products that haven’t made a name in the market yet, but taking the risk might pay off. Wholesalers of China phones have now scattered in different arcades. For a very low cost, you can have all the features you want in a mobile phone – camera, video, mp4, bluetooth, touchscreen, and even television! Some may say that you don’t get your money’s worth because majority of these products are substandard and defective. But as a consumer, I would still go for it since it has guarantee for one month and I have the privilege to return and replace it with another unit if I’m not satisfied with the quality. It is indeed much safer than buying second hand original phones, I guess. And even if I have to buy a mobile phone twice in a year, I would still be able to allot a sum of money in my piggybank. I have been an enthusiast buyer of China phones since last year, and so far, so good!

After a fulfilling meal, cakes are served for dessert. This is customarily to get a grip of the finishing touches of your sumptuous meal. Desserts are purposely served after having your main dish so that it won’t cut off your appetite. But if it would have been me, I would love to get a bite of it first. It brings on my appetite. What flavor makes my mouth water? No other than chocolate cakes! But of course, regardless of the flavor, I still find it irresistible to devour them as long as I get the chance of having the corners because of the swarming icing. After getting pleasure from a number of bites of a piece of cake, it is already when I sense the desire for food. It is when my appetite is induced. Weird, isn’t it? Well, that’s how cakes work for me. It is also perfect for coffee, which is my favorite hot drink, just as it makes my day reach its summit.

We often view business as something that would bail us out from the tough jobs that we are tasked to do by our superiors. We just don’t like the idea of being bossed around all the time, do we? Compelling us to get things done at an instant, meeting deadlines, working a minimum of eight hours in a day, demands that get out of hand, act in accordance with your workplace’s policies, steer clear from tardiness and absences, chasing after salary increase and promotion, and being aware that the person above you is just doing ‘power-trip,’ are just some of the few reasons why we dream of having our own business. So what do we have to contend with in starting our own business? The most common problem that we encounter in setting out a business is the capital. Oftentimes, what we have on hand is insufficient. We actually have an option to borrow from a bank, but at times we are having second thoughts if the bank would find us creditworthy. That is why some would resort to other lending institutions such as loan sharks. But we shouldn’t think that way. Banks treat us as business partners and they are willing to assist us in our financial needs if they are certain and confident that their debtor is willing and able to pay. The banks can identify to whom they can afford to lend their money to, because every loan applicant is assessed based on what they call the 4 Cs of Credit – Character, Capacity, Collateral, Capital. We can also pay our loan in a short-term or long term basis. So fear no more. Having the guts to take the risk only proves that you, as the capitalist and would-be entrepreneur, believe that you have a good project because you are laying down your money and name to finance the envisioned business.

With pride and gratitude, I would gladly say that I was once part of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines sometime in May 2005, which was formerly named Davao Oil Terminal Services Corporation (DOTSCO). I had witnessed its growth and success in high speed. They started their first retail service station in June 2005, and had more than 50 stations towards the end of 2007. Presently, they have more than a hundred. The mounting number of stations in Southern Mindanao was just written on their business plan during that time. But with due respect, all they have planned for have materialized. The provinces that they had eyed to put up their gasoline stations are now flocked with Phoenix Petroleum service stations. Everytime I pass by these stations, I can’t help but get astonished because the said plan turned out to be real and tangible. And they are more than just a gasoline station. They render services which are scarcely found in other stations. Their 24-hour convenience store named NEST (Necessities of Life) makes household needs and other necessities available just when you need it. They also have a pawnshop booth (amazing!) and an ATM, to purposefully make our lives easy despite our frenzied schedule. I really look up to their leaders because they genuinely stood by their goals, and were able to achieve them. With petroleum as their first product line, they also engaged in services such as into-plane services where they cater refueling requirements of airlines, hauling, leasing of storage space in their terminal, lubricants, and car care. They even acquired their own vessel and trucks. But they are not solely for business. Abiding by their trademark “Phoenix Fuels Life,” they uphold the value of stewardship, service for the community, and empowerment of the less fortunate. In accordance with their intention of lifting up the quality of life, they have put up Phoenix Petroleum Foundation, Inc. and had involved themselves in feeding programs, reach-out programs, donation to landslide victims, and International Coastal Clean-up.
